SPM Physics: AHA! Practical Skills – Don’t Chase Guided or Unguided!

 

Every year, students keep guessing: “Will the practical be guided or unguided?” But the truth is, marks are awarded for skills, not for predictions.

The 15 marks in Physics Practical come from mastering these essential skills:

• Observation, inference, hypothesis, procedure, diagram

• Table, graph, relationship, prediction, precaution

Exam survival rules:

1️⃣ Identify MV (Manipulated Variable)

2️⃣ Identify RV (Responding Variable)

3️⃣ Identify CV (Controlled Variable)

4️⃣ Construct a proper table

5️⃣ Interpret data correctly

6️⃣ State relationship clearly

Focus on skills that appear in both guided and unguided formats. Don’t waste energy on guessing the format—invest in mastering the skills.
