Students often confuse conductors with resistance wires. The exam wants you to state the material, property, and application clearly.
Low resistance materials (good conductors):
Copper → High conductivity → Electrical wiring
Aluminium → Lightweight conductor → Power transmission cables
High resistance materials (resistance wires):
Nichrome → High resistance + high melting point → Heating element
Exam tip: Don’t just write “use nichrome.” Write the property and application: high resistance + high melting point → suitable for heating elements. That’s how you secure full marks.
AHA! Conductor or resistor, marks depend on clarity. Not by sight, but by INSIGHT!
