On the pilgrimage of learning physics, students often face two very different paths.
One path is crowded with grades, formula memorization, thick answer schemes, and mechanically copied notes. It leads to instant right-or-wrong judgments and paper marks. As the old saying goes: “Marks may open a result slip.”
The other path leads to observations, experiments, graphs, and connections to essence. It may not be as quick as memorizing standard answers, but it truly lights up the mind: “Insight opens a mind.”
As a physics teacher who has spent two decades in the lab, walking across the soil of Sarawak (Bumi Kenyalang), I often reflect: What are we really teaching our students?
Exams bring anxiety and pressure, but remember: real learning is never about mechanically collecting correct answers. It is about discovering the grand ideas that transform the way we think, observe, and understand the world.
AHA! Marks may open a result slip, but insight opens a mind. Not by sight, but by INSIGHT!
