Spring Balance (10 N): Reading Technique, Common Mistakes & SPM Physics Tips



📦 Spring Balance (10 N)

Neraca spring digunakan untuk mengukur daya atau berat. Bacaan biasanya dinyatakan dalam unit newton (N).

A spring balance is used to measure force or weight. The reading is usually given in newtons (N).


👀 Cara Membaca | Reading Technique

✅ Gantungkan objek secara menegak dan tunggu sehingga penunjuk berhenti bergerak.

Hang the object vertically and wait for the pointer to become steady.

✅ Baca skala pada paras mata untuk mengelakkan parallax error.

Read the scale at eye level to avoid parallax error.

✅ Pastikan bacaan diambil pada skala Newton (N) yang betul.

Ensure the reading is taken from the correct Newton (N) scale.

✅ Semak nilai bahagian terkecil (least count) sebelum merekod bacaan.

Check the smallest division (least count) before recording the reading.


❌ Common Mistakes

❌ Membaca skala dari sudut serong.

Reading the scale from an angle.

❌ Mengambil bacaan ketika objek masih berayun.

Taking readings while the object is still swinging.

❌ Mengelirukan unit N dengan gf (gram-force).

Confusing N with gf (gram-force).

❌ Tidak menyemak sama ada penunjuk berada pada sifar sebelum digunakan.

Failing to check whether the pointer is at zero before use.


⚠️ Safety / Handling

⚠️ Jangan melebihi had maksimum 10 N.

⚠️ Do not exceed the maximum capacity of 10 N.

⚠️ Elakkan menjatuhkan neraca spring kerana spring di dalamnya boleh rosak.

⚠️ Avoid dropping the spring balance as the internal spring may be damaged.

⚠️ Simpan dalam keadaan tergantung atau tegak selepas digunakan.

⚠️ Store the spring balance upright after use.
