Readers, Sarawak has been wrapped in haze this past week from Indonesian forest fires. Lucky coincidence — it’s the school holiday, so we’re stuck at home. But staying indoors all day isn’t exactly fun. I’m no different: with the air outside uncertain, I’ve been blasting the aircon and hiding inside. That’s how this comic came to life.

Physics sneaks into daily life: bigger rooms need more cooling power, inverter systems save energy, clean filters keep us safe. Still, I can already imagine the electricity bill climbing sky‑high. More than anything, I hope the fires are put out soon, and that wisdom prevails in handling this crisis. It’s been way too long since we last saw blue skies and fluffy clouds.

And hey, don’t mind if CIKGU LIM’s proportions look a bit off in the comic — that’s just the playful glitch of comic art. Zoom in and laugh: sometimes imperfections are part of the charm.

Morning in Simanggang, the haze was everywhere. The houses and the long road looked quiet and grey, almost hidden in the smoky air.

School holidays should be about fun outside, but now we just stay indoors. Physics says haze is full of tiny particles that block light. Life says haze blocks our plans too.

I really hope the fires stop soon, so we can see blue skies and white clouds again.
