But every kid carried a walkie‑talkie. Crackling voices kept families connected beneath the rainforest canopy — survival communication at its purest.

Fast forward to today: cell towers have marched into the interiors, smartphones are everywhere. But here’s the irony — everyone has a phone, yet actual communication has gone silent. Instead of talking across the jungle, people stare blankly at glowing screens, scrolling endlessly. Dickens said it best: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…” We gained faster chips and 5G bars, but somehow lost the human frequency.

This comic reminds us that physics gave us long waves that bend around trees, saving lives in the jungle.
