Pencils Lead Conduct Electricity and Act as Resistors Too.


The “lead” in a pencil isn't actually made from lead. It is made from a form of carbon called graphite. The graphite is mixed with clay and formed into long thin pencil lead.

Graphite contains free electrons that can move.

These electrons allow electric current to flow.

Therefore, graphite is an electrical conductor despite being a non-metal.

❌ Menganggap semua bentuk karbon mengalirkan elektrik dengan cara yang sama.

Assuming all forms of carbon conduct electricity equally.

❌ Menganggap mata pensel diperbuat daripada plumbum (lead).

Assuming pencil lead is made of metallic lead.

❌ Tidak menyentuhkan klip buaya pada bahagian grafit dengan baik.

Failing to make proper contact with the graphite core.
